Sales Is Not A Four Letter Word Its A Five
By: Jennifer Abernethy

Many people are afraid of selling..they over analyze it. So, I'd like to share with you five techniques get you started to thinking positively about sales.

#1 Shift your mindset. Sales is about helping others..not necessarily selling a product. Sure, that is the end result..but whether your selling cars, jewelry, real estate, clothes, stocks, services..your are ultimately selling something that is helping others lead a more productive, happy, joyous life!

#2 Always treat your customers like they are your best prospects-----Your competition is!

#3 Follow up..follow up..follow up..this is where most of the selling process happens. Most of your sales come after the 5th or 6th follow up. Not the first! Following up will set you apart from the competition!

#4 Your next customer could come from a place that you least expect it. Some of my most highly paying clients came from places that I would lest expect it..not a corporate gala..but a coffee shop or a neighborhood cookout. Everyone can become a lead to a potential customer so stay true to being authentic and genuine with everyone!

#5 Make working with you fun! Who wants to work with someone that is a real drag. Have fun with your clients, but don't cross the line. Remember, this is business so keep it that way. But smile, be upbeat and optimistic and listen. I've had to be upbeat and fun on days that I would have rather stayed home, but truly that is the sign of a professional. Don't let your customers feel your problems..you are there to solve theirs!

And a special bonus tip...remember..sales is not a four letter word..it's a five!
