Loan Officer Training How Daydreaming Can Make You A Successful Loan Officer I think the older we get, the more we let the creativity go in our lives and being a Loan Officer in the mortgage business is no different. Remember when you were a kid, what you thought about? Some wanted to be a fireman. Others a ballerina. As we got a bit older, boys started thinking about the car they wanted to drive; a Ferrari, a Porsche or maybe a classic muscle car. Most girls, at least ones I had talked to, thought about a their dream honeymoon or a luxurious trip to some far away land or island. Eventually, after we got out of school, we grew complacent with what we had. We settled for what our income dictated we could afford. For some, that Corvette turned into a Chevette. That far away land ended up being a 2 night getaway to the Holiday Inn. What happened to us as we got older? Why did we stop daydreaming? Believe it or not, there are some Loan Officers who make a GREAT living in the Mortgage Business and their main focus is, you guessed it, daydreaming! You wonder how that can be, it's really quite simple after you think about it for a few minutes. Let me briefly explain... Some of the most notable trainers out there, whether it be mortgage trainers or just sales trainers, say something that's pretty consistent with each other, it's a concept they call "visualization." In other words, think about what you want from this business. Is it a Ferrari? Maybe a trip to some far away land or island. Does this sound familiar? Why is it that daydreaming as a kid is great, but as an adult it's bad? The difference is the adult version is called visualization, which can be a GREAT sales technique. So, the next time you're at your desk and your boss says to quick day dreaming and get working, you can say you're visualizing what you want from this business. Of course, you still need to work your butt off, but at least you can "daydream" like you were a kid again and now you have a vehicle that can make your dreams come true!
