Adding Google Analytics Tracking to your EZ20Now Site
By: Suzette Bradley

Hello everyone, I am going to give you some information on how to add Google Analytics tracking code to your site that comes with this program.

Now, Google has a lot of different free tools that website owners can benefit from like Google analytics. I came across this tool on Google about a year ago and its been instrumental to my website. It allows me to track my visitors intensely. I can see the source from which each visitor comes from, the time the spent on my site, what operating system they have, what country they are from, and much more. Instead of spending $20 or more each month, I get it for free from Google. All you would have to do is sign up for a Google account, set up your website by putting the code that Google gives you on your website and thats it! You can sign into your Google account everyday and see the performance of your website. In addition, you can add as many websites you like!

Now, why would you want to put this code on your website?

Because you will be able to track the performance of your website and see how successful your marketing tactics are on a daily basis. Its important to see the performance of your marketing tactics so that you can edit what is not successful. When I started out with my first website, I made the mistake of not adding a tracking code to my website. I spent over $300 in marketing tactics, (before I found a way to market for free) and made no money! Why? Because I did modify my marketing tactics that were not working for me.

How do you add the code to your website, exactly?

The first thing you need to do is open your zip file that includes the website. Then you are going to the file that says index.html, right click on that file and choose open with and click on notepad. Now, once the file opens up in notepad you are going to see a lot of coding, its ok if you do not understand it. Now you are going to copy that code that you got from Google analytics, and you are going to copy (right click, then click copy) it into the body section of the page. If you go line by line, you will see a code that looks like this: . Right after that code, you are going to put the code you got from Google analytics and paste (right click, then click paste) it there. After you paste it into your website you are going to save the file, do not save as, just save it. Then you are going to upload it to your server, Google will find it on your website, then you are good to go. If you have any problems uploading it or if you have questions you can contact me, I will be glad to help.
