Hailing from Boston, Ma., The New Digital Sound is an emotion altering rock that doesn't quickly allow its' sound to be categorized. Drawing from influences within elektronik and industrial music, Copelinn (the founder of the band) seems to almost weave in an out of consciousness with a synth firmly in hand and a guitar or sequencer somewhere within arm's reach. The idea for (t) nds started more than 15 years ago with a psychotic obsession with sound, particularly recording and manipulating it. Early material enlisted the use of broken four track tape decks, CD players, guitar stomp boxes, outdated drum machines, and a few sequencers strewn throughout for good measure. The early recordings, though crude in design, seemed to capture a sort of hypnotic sense of paranoia meshed with a constant questioning of authority and silver linings that seemed ever-elusive. See Atari Teenage Riot, The Clash and Moby for reference. In short, they were created as a response to the visual world invading on a daily basis and that world was sometimes jagged and incomplete.

My co-host Robe Flax is moving away to Portland, OR here in a week or so. We will continue to do the show though thanks to ...

Robyn?s got some news for you: fembots have feelings, too. That?s what the Swedish pop star is singing about in a newly released song, called, what else, ?Fembots,? that appeared on her official website today (March 17). The insanely infectious electronic track (think Black Eyed Peas gone Euro) will lead a more dance-driven set of new music [...]
