Danni Gee's energy and tenacity have catapulted her from the youth choir of the African Methodist Episcopalian Church in West Philadelphia to holding her own center stage along side R&B veterans like Sister Sledge. This multi-talented artist, who has performed as a principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, is in constant demand providing guest vocals for several acts including poet Jessica Care Moore, Sharief in Burgundy, Mother's Favorite Child and the legendary group Sister Sledge, with whom she tours in America and abroad as an "adopted" baby sister. With a clear vision, eventually Danni sought out other artists to assist her in sharing her eclectic style with the world and in August of 1999, with Danni as their voice, Suga Bush was born. Using her words and music, they have created a unique fusion of sounds and influences, bringing to the table ol' school R&B, electric rock, a spoonful of hip hop and a whole lot of soul. Their early live recordings and singles from their debut EP have already gained airplay in North and South America and Europe and within of their debut, Danni received mention in Billboard Magazine as the featured new artist in their Internet division and she and Suga Bush were featured in the launch of BillBoard's offshoot website, Promosquad, alongside Jill Scott and The Pharycyde. Suga Bush was selected to perform at the 2003 MeanyFest, a weeklong series of showcases featuring emerging NYC artists and musicians, and a Sonicbids promoted event and were the headlining act at the 2003 NYC Village Soul Festival. Danni Gee & Suga Bush recently celebrated the release of their first full length cd, "A Love Odyssey" (2004), a sonic journey through the ups and downs of love. In support of the album, they continue to perform regularly at popular New York venues such as Crash Mansion, The Baggot Inn, Arlene Grocery, and SOB'S and at venues in and around the country. You can also hear Danni singing "The Wind Cries Mary" on the "Electronica Files: The Jimi Hendrix Dossier" (Exile Records/USA), which is currently in major stores and online outfitters. Danni's single "Aint It Funny", co-written with producer, CoolNerd, will be featured in the independent film "Leaving L.A." (Third Car Productions/2006). After experiencing just one session with Danni Gee, you too will be searching for ways to describe this untapped talent. Just keep in mind that however you describe her or her music, you will only be scratching at the surface.
