His vocal style has been influenced by Johnny Hartman, Tony Bennett, Jack Jones, Frank D'Rone and Frank Sinatra. The albums include many of the lesser heard great standards sung in his own personal style in a small group setting and in a big band setting. You will find Bossas, ballads, bounce and funk, some fast, some slow and some halfast! Some new songs (never released and written by Ross Schneider), some old songs (updated arrangements by Alan McPike) and some songs you would never expect to hear in this style (Beatles, Johnny Ray, Hank Williams Sr. and Bobby Darin). Alan McPikes performance is excellent as usual and the arrangements are superb. All three of his albums represent an eclectic collection your sure to enjoy Most of the songs are familiar standards performed in a modern, contemporary style. The title song, Love and the Weather is a seldom heard Irving Berlin hidden gem. Antonio's Song is a beautiful and sad song written by Michael Franks in honor of Antonio Carlos Jobim who has given the world many great songs. Give it a listen,I am sure you will find a song or two that you will enjoy ....."I was born and raised in Chicago many years ago. Like many musicians, music touched my heart and soul at an early age. I started out studying drums and vibes with Hal Russell and eventualy found, I loved singing more. I used to play most of the clubs in the Chicago area, especially the "Manheim Road" strip. Currently, I play many private parties with various trios and quartets I have aways had a strong desire to cut a few albums and have finally done it. Misty Rain, Essential Ingredients and Hidden Gems are all available from CD Baby. Three albums produced so far all have been arranged and performed by Alan McPike, probably the finest multi-talented musician in th U.K. Alan's mastery of the keyboards and synthesizers is apparent on the three albums"..... A fourth album, jazz & such CHICAGO style, by Ralph Napolitano - Roger Pauly the Jazz Friends Group has just been released on CD Baby. The album features all original material written by the group. Included are vocals and instrumentals that encompass a variety of Jazz styles. A fifth album was just released on CD Baby, 'Tis a Swinging Holiday Season. All arrangements are new versions of some great old holiday standards by Ross Schneider who has written songs for Thelonious Monk, Buddy DeFranco and others.....An interesting and eclectic collection.

NEW YORK, N.Y. ? In the pantheon of blues, Howlin? Wolf was in a category of his own. At 6?3? and 275 pounds, he had a voice that resonated with menace ? not every bluesman could make a song like ?I Asked Her for Water (She Brought Me Gasoline)? convincing.
