John E. Vistic is a magpie, a die-hard atavist and a braver of the crowd. He is the tenderer of resignations and the founder of hopes. He is the deadbeat and the prophet. He is the bank clerk and the philosopher. He is the fading fool and the break-neck rider. They play hard to get, playing stand up acoustic bass with discordant electric guitars or mixing beats with piano and trombone-lead St.Paul's drinking songs. What can be said of his influences? Well here it goes anywhere from Gospel and Folk music, the likes of Dylan, Cash and Guthrie, via the Australian guitar band Radio Birdman to The Stooges, Nick Cave and the middle period Leonard Cohen. At Black Heart Studios the philosophy is: "Make It New and Make it Brave". With the spirit of The Nation of Ulysses the Black Heart Studios artists live Boldly and create expansively. Black Heart Studios is both the dark windowless music studio 'the underbelly' and the 'topside' central control room where our artists converge (usually to drink coffee, eat cake and betray secrets).
