This year, Gwindingwi Rine Shumba are going to defend their title. We are going to Mutare for the annual Music Crossroads, which will be fielded in late February to early March. They are also going to Chimanimani Festival in April. They have performed in several night clubs such as Livewire 2, Paramount, Mutute Club Penyai, Kenzim and Jim alo.

They have shared the stage with role models such as Oliver Mutukudzi (Chibuku Road to Fame 2001), Busi Ncube, Chiwoneso Maraire, Progress Chipfumo and Wilom Tight, just to mention a few.

Gwindingwi rine shumba mbira guru consists of twelve members - the average age of the band members is 20. The band has seven male and five female band members all based in Mbare at Mai Musodzi and Matapi Pre School Community Center, Zimbabwe. The band was formed in April 1999. We are masters of mbira, marimba, guitars and keyboard - in a nutshell we are masters of our traditional Zimbabwean instruments.

They have performed in various places around Zimbabwe e.g. at Amakhosi township (Bulawayo), Sheraton (Harare), Milks (Bulawayo), Chimanimani (Manicaland), and the Kwekwe festival which was a competition in which we took the first position for the last three years.
