Crunchy guitars, storytelling lyrics, Hammond organs, & catchy melodies recall some of rock's boldest artists, past & present: Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Snow Patrol. Or, as the band puts it, Woody Guthrie meets The Clash Dry September is an LA-based rock band at the forefront of rock's New Populism movement. Their songs tell stories of defiance, resistance, and community--stories of downtrodden outcasts and underdogs from across the American landscape. Their crunchy guitars, Hammond organs, and catchy melodies recall some of rock's boldest artists, past and present: Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Snow Patrol. Or, as the band members describe themselves, “Woody Guthrie meets The Clash.” Their latest CD, entitled “Build a New Town,” features 10 new tracks. These songs present characters at their most defiant, most hungry, and most vulnerable, fighting for dignity during hard times in a hard land. Dry September has been performing regularly in support of their new CD. Recent appearances include shows at The Roxy, The Viper Room, and The Knitting Factory. Interested parties can contact the band by email at davidtokaji@gmail.com. For further information, please visit their website at www.myspace.com/DRYSEPT

NEW YORK, N.Y. ? In the pantheon of blues, Howlin? Wolf was in a category of his own. At 6?3? and 275 pounds, he had a voice that resonated with menace ? not every bluesman could make a song like ?I Asked Her for Water (She Brought Me Gasoline)? convincing.
