A*M~P make music for the soul; sparkling sounds, danceable grooves & reality checks. They believe in uplifting the universal heart & nourishing enthusiasm. Biography: A*M~P comprises of Jeremy Creighton Herbert and Mikey Kirkpatrick. Jeremy is a creative director, composer, teacher and great cook. Mikey is a student at Goldsmiths College, London. He specialises in jazz flute, studio recording, production & needs to learn to cook! The band is studio based, alternating between Hereford and London studios in the UK. They have recently finished their second album HERE THERE BUT SOMEWHERE; the single ClayFeet has been aired on USA and BBC radio with comments from DJ Andrew Marston such as "I loved it, very creative, I want more!". The duo also sign and promote other artists and make demos available known as The Avocado Orchards (www.avocadomusic.com/tao.htm). Their artists perform around the UK and in 2006 Avocado Music Productions will be hosting music nights where their artists will showcase their talent and sell cds.

A new era in the cultural history of Dallas begins this week. Jaap van Zweden conducts his first local concerts as music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra: a big-ticket gala Wednesday evening, at which he'll also play the violin, and four concerts Thursday through Sept. 14.
